THIS WEEK IN:
Students are reviewing long vowel pairs such as ai/ay, ee/ea, oa/o_e, r controlled words –ir,-er,-ur. There are no spelling words this week.
This week we will read Hey Little Ant. Students will learn more about perspective and voice. We will read this text multiple times, providing opportunities to learn new vocabulary, dig deeper into comprehension and write responses to the text.

We are working on a favorite places book to conclude our unit on Opinion writing. Thank you for helping your child complete the opinion writing web over the weekend.
We will take the unit 7 assessment on Wednesday and Thursday and play some favorite games including Salute, Time Match, Attribute Train Game and Stop and Go. We will begin Unit 8 after break! Unit 8 is all about geometry and shapes. Sounds simple, but with vocabulary like faces, vertices, edges, whole, it can be a wonderful challenge! Our STEM project this Wednesday will focus on creating 2 and 3 dimensional shapes, as well.
We are in STEM week. Our week will culminate with a building challenge this Wednesday, April 5th.
Students are learning about the past and how people’s friendly acts and acts of courage have contributed / impacted families today. Also, they are learning about their family’s past and how it is different from today.
