You must fill out a volunteer application prior to volunteering. Thanks to Bobby’s grandma, Nia’s mom and Kendall R.’s mom for expressing interest and helping out!

  • If you have not yet purchased a ticket for the event “Raise a Glass for Ray”, please do so. It is a wonderful event and all proceeds benefit Ray School.


This week we will read The Most Magnificent Thing. We will identify story elements such as characters, setting, character development and author’s purpose. We will use the book to make predictions and inferences. Students will continue to identify character traits that support a growth mind set and perseverance.

We will continue How-To writing this week. Students will independently and with partners write step-by-step directions for things they know how to do. We will explore various spellings of the long a sound including a_silent e, ai and ay.


This week, we will continue to explore place value. Students will play base 10 exchange, comparing heights and lengths of objects, measuring various paths, play the digit game and use animal cards to compare the weights of animals. Students will also practice subtraction by playing the difference game.


We will learn more about pitch and volume. Students will use a kalimba to explore pitch, sound vibration and volume. We will continue our study of maps.
